Emotions are a language that speak to us of the deeper workings of our mind and if listened to- rather than reacted to- can provide valuable insighs into our selves, our friends, love ones. Behind every emotion is a thought. We think of failure sometimes which we will experience fear. We think ourselves highly which we will experience confident. A thought generates each of these feelings. Emotions don't arrive from nowhere. They fall and rise on the waves of our thoughts. Because emotions are by-products of thinking, we sometimes screw up our careers, health, happiness and relationships with others through unconscious thinking, not unconscious feeling. This is why learning to recognize a polluting thought the instant it shows itself is crucial.
